The WSV Social Franchise

Our growing portfolio of three social franchises are designed with and for communities living on under $3 per day. The franchises rely on their strong brand image to establish micro-enterprises in communities run by local entrepreneurs. The micro-enterprises operate to provide fundamental products and services to communities, which is sustained by supporting the livelihoods of the entrepreneurs.

In order to be able to create widespread impact, a sustainable business model and utilise the existing partnerships that organisations have, these community focused brands operate on The WSV Social Franchise Model.

Organisations first purchase a license to utilise a particular brand and business model. An organisation can then establish the micro-enterprise models in the communities they work in.

We provide complete documentation and training on all steps of establishing and supporting the micro-enterprises; from conducting needs and impact assessments partners, to record keeping and formal customer feedback for the entrepreneurs. Each brand offers a range of ongoing support, including; access to discounted suppliers, product and business developments, training programme development, network level and collaborative fundraising, shared learnings between communities and partners, improved systems and tools. A large amount of innovation occurs within the communities themselves, any such innovations are piloted in other communities then distributed throughout the network.

Pack 1 - Guides & Models

Pack 1 walks through everything required to set up a micro-enterprise. The main body consists of a step by step guide covering the steps to set up and successfully monitor a micro-enterprise. This pack also includes theories of change and a top level financial analysis of the micro-enterprise.

Pack 2 - Your toolkit

Pack 2 contains the training guides on conducting accurate assessments, including how to minimise the effects of bias. This pack also contains the assessments themselves specific to the micro-enterprise, and the databases used for analysing and interpreting the results.

Pack 3 - Micro-Enterprise Education Material

Pack 3 contains all the training material for the micro-enterprise and the trainers guides required to successfully teach the entrepreneurs. This covers everything from how to make any products, to the business and associated health education.

Pack 4 - Micro-Enterprise Operational Material

Pack 4 contains the marketing material, product user guides, business records, and formal customer feedback records.
